Design and schedule

Recently I was tattooing someone and at the same time a lady came in to set up an appointment for a new tattoo that I had drawn something for over a year ago that had since changed her mind about what she wanted and the size so I did that design on a good friend that wanted it.After she left I continued tattooing and it came up in conversation about how I won’t do the same design on two people and that the design I was tattooing on him was his and his only and they were kind of shocked. This was the third design that I had drawn up for this person before tattooing him that day and then I realized that this person didn’t know that I had spent hours drawing for him to make sure the design was right and that I had not just printed something off of the internet that someone else had and tattooed it on him.I think at that point he understood why I couldn’t tattoo him when he changed his mind on the original day because I had to draw a new one for him and that I would have to make time in between tattoos and drawings for upcoming tattoos that were already scheduled after his.We have now started a really nice tattoo that we are both happy with and he is really nice and I look forward to working him in the future.
So the reason I am writing this is because when I opened the shop I wanted to make it a comfortable place for tattooers that love tradition,Grandmas and people getting there first tattoo.I wanted to make sure that every tattoo done is a good tattoo not just something slapped on and in doing so it does take time to come up with a design for each person especially large scale tattoos. Some tattoos can be done the same day and we love it when that happens but we never just settle in order to get something done.We also never try to talk someone into getting what we want to do but instead just want to do what works as a good tattoo that will last and not just look good for a picture in our portfolio and then heal up and look horrible. We base our tattooing and the designs we make based on what works and has been done for a long time and still looks good not based on trends or what will make us look cool on instagram.
We schedule based on when we will be able to put our all into each tattoo and most of of the time its sooner than later. We want to make sure that when you show up your design is ready and we are set up and ready to go and not go eat and smoke a bunch of cigarettes and then draw something for you when you show up. We always encourage everyone to come into the shop to discuss the tattoo instead of sending messages over social media or other means to make sure everything is discussed and nothing is looked over.We basically want everyone to know that we appreciate when you want us to tattoo you and that a lot goes into it before we even start the tattoo but once we get it started scheduling is a lot easier and we want to make sure that you ask us all of the questions that you have to make sure we are on the same page before we start. If you don’t understand why we do something a certain way feel free to ask and I promise that the reason is because we have your best interests in mind.We always encourage everyone to come into the shop to discuss the tattoo instead of sending messages over social media or other means to make sure everything is discussed and nothing is looked over.

Thank you
